An 82-year-old grandma impressed many people when she succeeded in two Tough Mudder races. In fact, the grandmother named Mildred Wilson hopes to have the opportunity to participate in the same race for the third time, next year.
Tough Mudder is an endurance race filled with obstacles like ice baths, mud baths for a mile and so on.
“My son is into tough mudding, and I went as his pit crew a couple of times.
“He asked me if I wanted to do one of the local ones and I said,‘ sure ’,” said Mildred, who hails from Missouri, USA.
After receiving a health confirmation from her doctor, Mildred began training in 2019, and successfully finished the race shortly after her 80th birthday.
Mildred managed to finish her second race in three hours at a recent race accompanied by her son, 47-year-old Danny.
She hopes that what she does can inspire other people of all ages to give tough challenges a proper go.
“Just go for it. There’s people there of all ages. If you can’t do it all, so what? Just try it.
“At 82 years old you’re not sure about next year, but if I’m still alive and well enough, I’ll do it again,” added Mildred.
