Who would have known that jeans could be so expensive? The world of fashion is definitely full of gorgeous clothing that comes with a very hefty price tag. Each time a model walks the runway wearing something stunning and unique, it is assumed that it’s designed for the rich and famous, and the designs quickly become the envy of admirers around the world. This is only to fancy evening gowns and also stunning outfits that aren’t really marketable for everyday wear.

Many will be surprised to discover that even the jeans that models are wearing are priced way out of reach for the average consumer. There are way more expensive jeans out there in the world, just waiting to be picked up by people with loaded bank accounts. For all those people who do not have a clue, these are the 5 most expensive pairs of jeans.

It is quite amazing that a pair of jeans looking as classic as these can stir such a frenzy among women. The main reason why these Sweet Circus jeans cost $1.3 million is the high quality diamonds sewn into their back pockets. You can buy several styles and designs of these jeans, each of them coming with a unique jewel pattern. They are without doubt some of the fanciest jeans you’ve ever seen, beautifully mixing precious elements with an elegant shape that will never get old.

2) Dussault Apparel Trashed Denim – $250,000 (RM1.1 million)

The Trashed Denim is a luxury jeans line coming from Dussault Apparel, the name of the line obviously coming from the beaten-up aspect of the clothes. These jeans have been apparently washed thirteen times before getting stitched and died, painted in between to add depth. Each process was made by hand and to justify the overwhelming price of $250,000 the designers added two rubies, one of 16 carats and another of 26 half-carat, a diamond of eight and a half-carat, and white and rose gold of 18 carats to amount to over a kilo of bling.

3) Levi Strauss & Co. 501 – $60,000 (RM253,440)

Levi Strauss created his renowned label in 1853 in San Francisco, and the jeans made by him and his company are still among the most popular and famous jeans today. He is even called the father of denim jeans and a vintage pair of jeans created by his company can go for quite a large sum. In contrast to other clothes, jeans only get better with age, that’s why a pair of Levi’s from the late 1800s was bought for $46,000 and a pair from the early 1900s was recently sold for $36,000 at an auction. The jeans from the 1800s were bought by Levi’s company itself! Another Japanese collector bought a pair from the 1880s for $60,000, making them some of the most expensive jeans in history.

4) Escada Custom Made Jeans – $10,000 (RM42,240)

Escada also makes you custom jeans according to your wishes and they can even embroider complex patterns into them or whatever you want. The famous brand started making jeans back in 1978 and ever since they’ve gained a lot of experience in making the perfect pair of jeans for everyone’s needs. They are so high on this list because when someone asked for a pair of jeans with Swarovski crystals encrusted into them the price was no less than $10,000.

5) APO Jeans – $4,000 (RM16,896)

Now we get into the brands that use precious metals and gems to make their jeans stand out of the pack. APO Jeans for instance have silk pockets with gold, silver or platinum rivets, plus a little diamond used instead of a button? The customized jeans use only the best fabrics and they will even come with a certificate of authenticity for each precious metal or jewel embedded into the pair. Their jeans prices vary greatly according to the bling you want on them, but it is not unusual to pay $4,000 for a pair.
