New data began to emerge that the Delta variant of COVID-19 was more infectious, nearly twice as contagious as previous variants, and also was leading to increased transmissibility when compared to other variants, even in vaccinated individuals. Delta is currently the predominant strain of the virus. Thus, it is the most dangerous one yet.
Typically, vaccinated people are either asymptomatic or have very mild symptoms if they contract the Delta variant. Their symptoms are more like those of a common cold people use to have, such as cough, fever, or headache, with the addition of significant loss of smell.
