(Video) ‘Hellbound’, New Korean Horror Series Dropping In This November

Thanks to Netflix’s Tudum: Korea Spotlight event, Korean drama lovers can look forward to a slew of new shows. The event debuted the first trailers and teasers for dramas set to air in 2021 and 2022. Hellbound, a Netflix K-drama original with intrigue, a dark tale, and supernatural/celestial elements, is on the list.

In 2021, Netflix will premiere one of the most anticipated K-Dramas since the release of Kingdom. Hellbound, a new horror drama, will premiere at a number of prestigious international film festivals before being released on Netflix in November 2021.

Hellbound is a South Korean Netflix Original horror series written and directed by Yeon Sang-Ho, based on the popular South Korean webtoon Hell. Hellbound will be one of the most popular South Korean Netflix releases in 2021, with the exception of a special episode of Kingdom and Squid Game.

So here’s what you need to know about the upcoming Korean series:

1. Release date

Hellbound will be available on Netflix on Friday, November 19th, 2021, thanks to the Netflix TUDUM event. The first Korean drama series to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival is Hellbound.

In October, the series will premiere in South Korea at the 26th Busan International Film Festival. Hellbound has also been selected to screen as part of the LFF series excitement segment at the 65th BFI London Film Festival.

2. The plot

The death angels dispatched from hell, according to Jung Jin Soo, the head and founder of the new religion Saejinrihwe, are a revelation from god. Many odd and passionate admirers are drawn to his tremendous appeal. While Detective Jin Kyung Hoon explores the mystery surrounding the angels of death, Bae Young Jae, a programme director for a broadcasting station, is determined to learn the truth about Saejinrihwe.

3. The cast

Sang-ho, who directed Train to Busan and its sequel, returns to direct Hellbound’s whole six-episode run. Yoo Ah-in (Burning), Park Jeong-min (Deliver Us from Evil), Kim Hyun-joo, and Won Jin-ah will appear in the series (The Age of Shadows).

Kim Hyun-Joo, who plays female attorney Min Hye-Jin, joins Yoo and Park in the film. A police detective named Jin Kyeong-Hoon, played by actor Yang Ik-June, is also on the cast list for Hellbound. Won Jin-Ah is also cast as Bae Young-wife, Jae’s but it’s unclear how her presence in the drama will affect the plot.

So Korena fans, get ready for this new and thrilling horror series dropping in this November!
