(Video) “The Names of The Apps That We Build Will Remain The Same” – Meta

As reported last week, Facebook will change its company to shift its focus to the ‘metaverse’. The riddle about the company’s new name was finally answered when its founder Mark Zuckerberg announced that Facebook would change its corporate name to Meta. This is actually such a huge step for the company to focus more on the future.

According to CNN, the new name was announced by Zuckerberg during a virtual reality conference, Facebook Connect, yesterday. It is understood the name change is in line with its focus on the ‘metaverse’, which refers to efforts to incorporate virtual reality technology and augment it in a new online realm. “To the next level, I think a lot about our identity because Facebook is one of the most used technology products in the history of the world”.

“It’s an iconic social media brand, but increasingly it doesn’t cover all the things we do”, he said at the conference. He added that most people in the world see his company as a social media company, even though they are more than that. “We are a company that builds technology to connect people and the ‘metaverse’ is the same next frontier as social networking when we first started”, he said.
