You discovered love—whether it was in high school, college through a common acquaintance, or on a dating app—and now it’s time to make it last. One of the most important occasions of your life is asking for your partner’s hand in marriage. As unique as it is, you undoubtedly want to make this proposal memorable and spectacular.
Planning a proposal can be nerve-wracking as there a just so many ways to do them. Some do over a candlelight dinner, some do it in public places, some do it through flashmob dance and some just keep it simple at home. There’s always something for you, whether you want to pop the question in a charming but basic way or plan a truly unique surprise. In any event, keep in mind that the finest proposal ideas are ones that really reflect the couple’s connection.

A Filipino couple named Jan Abejuela and Sharmhaine Gatbonton met in an online dating app in 2019. Three months later, they decided to personally meet. Since then, they have been together for two years. Jan had the idea of proposing to his girlfriend and he wanted something simple yet cute.
He chose to propose on October 18, 2021, after seeing a similar style of wedding proposal on social media. Jan said he rented a hotel with a view of Taal on purpose and had her then-girlfriend record a selfie video of them on the balcony.
Jan disclosed his surprise when she was filming the video. Jan presented the ring and popped the question while recording the video. Sharmhaine instantly became stunned and was full of emotion and that moved all those viewers who watched the heart-warming video. So many people showed their love for the couple by congratulating them. I guess its save to say that this couple has finally found their path to a happy new beginning!
