Maxis Donates Food, Hygiene Kits, SIM Packs To Flood Victims

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 23 — Telecommunications company Maxis Berhad will donate aid, including food, hygiene kits and SIM packs to flood evacuees at relief centres, Maxis chief executive officer Gokhan Ogut said in a statement Thursday.

The aid will be distributed with the assistance of the National Welfare Foundation (YKN)  and the Malaysian Red Crescent Society (MRCS) Association in the East Coast, Klang Valley, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka and Johor.

“We understand the challenges faced by flood victims, including our employees and distributors, in this difficult time. Hopefully this initial aid provided will boost their spirits,” he said, adding that Maxis was working towards restoring services and reducing network disruptions at this critical period.

The items in the hygiene kits include towels, soap, sanitary pads, shaving kits, toothbrushes and toothpaste.
