Perlis State Govt, NGOs, Political Parties Channel Aid To Selangor Flood Victims

KANGAR, 23 Dis  — Perlis today mobilised its “Perlis Humanitarian and Care Mission” by donating various forms of aid worth about RM500,000 to flood victims in Selangor.

Perlis Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Azlan Man said volunteers from various state agencies, non-governmental organisations, (NGOs) and political parties participated in the programme to help flood victims there.

“We have chosen a location for us to hand over the aid as suggested by organisers in Selangor, which is Dusun Tua, Hulu Langat.

“The main aim of the mission is to provide assistance to flood victims in the area and there are three categories of aid for them,” he told reporters after the flag off ceremony here today.

The three categories of aid are cash donations for flood victims to buy food, necessities like mattresses, blankets, rubber mats and cleaning services.

Besides that, the mission also has food items and clothing for flood victims in need, he added.

Azlan said he is leading the mission, along with about 100 volunteers, and they would be in Hulu Langat for two days until this Saturday.

“I am told that there were individuals who left for Hulu Langat with lorries filled with various items this morning,” he added.
