Al-Sultan Abdullah Performs Friday Prayers At FT Mosque

KUALA LUMPUR, June 3 (Bernama) — Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah today performed Friday prayers at the Federal Territory (FT) Mosque here.

The King arrived at the mosque at 1.07 pm and was welcomed by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob and several Cabinet ministers.

Among them were Ministers in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Idris Ahmad (Religious Affairs) and Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed (Economy), Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim and Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz.

His Majesty also joined the congregation to listen to the sermon titled “Dirgahayu Tuanku, Rahmat Selalu” delivered by the Grand Imam Muhyidin Aziz @ Saari.

The sermon, issued specifically in conjunction with the official birthday of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong next Monday, touched on Malaysia’s Constitutional Monarchy system which places the King in the highest position in protecting religion and the country, besides being the symbol of unity and wellbeing of the people.

“Alhamdulillah, we are blessed with a King with people’s interests at heart, who fulfils his duties with fairness and humility and who always put peace and people’s wellbeing first in every situation.

“May the King’s leadership wisdom be strengthened with the advice provided by firm religious scholars and sincere Cabinet (government), be supported by the loyalty of the people living in harmony, and most importantly, to continue being blessed with Allah’s divine guidance,” Muhyidin said.

He said Malaysia had witnessed the wisdom of His Majesty and the Malay rulers in making several decisions to stabilise the country during the period of political turmoil and the war against COVID-19.

“All praises be to Allah, the royal institution has protected us with fairness ad wisdom in ensuring peace for all people. So, it is just right that we, the people, show obedience and loyalty (to the King) in accordance with the principle of Rukun Negara that we pledged,” he said.

Before leaving the mosque after the prayers, Al-Sultan Abdullah also spent some time mingling and posing for pictures with several lucky congregants.
