The List of Upcoming Marvel Shows and Movies at D23 Expo

With the conclusion of Marvel Studios’ D23 Expo, Marvel has treated the fans with some exciting new trailers and teasers for their upcoming movies and shows for 2023 and 2024.

Additionally, the D23 Expo allows Marvel the opportunity to showcase all their upcoming works and projects that they have been working on, and gives the fans something to look forward to in the future. Hence, here is a list of the movies and shows announced by Marvel.

1) Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

Firstly, the highly anticipated Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will be a sequel to the 2018 movie, Black Panther and will release this November. For everyone’s information, the movie will be the last movie in Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Exclusive footage shown at the expo shows that Wakanda will be protecting their valuable Vibranium, a mineral only found in Wakanda, from other nations. Also, the footage shows the movie villain, Namor battling with M’Baku.

2) Ironheart

Next, Marvel announced Ironheart which will be premiering on Disney+. Ironheart will star Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams. You can also catch Dominique in the upcoming Black Panther: Wakanda Forever movie. Exclusive footage shown at the expo shows that the series will focus on her time at MIT, with confirmation the villain of the series will be The Hood, played by Anthony Ramos.

3) Secret Invasion

Interestingly, fans got to see the first trailer of Secret Invasion, a Disney+ series featuring Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill, Don Cheadle as War Machine as well as introducing Emilia Clarke and Olivia Colman to the MCU. Nick Fury is caught in a massive conspiracy involving shapeshifting aliens, known as the Skrulls. We were first introduced to the Skrulls in the 2019 Marvel Studios movie, Captain Marvel. The series will premiere in early 2023.

5) Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania

During the Disney D23 Expo, exclusive footage for Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania was shown. The footage showed Kang the Conqueror, played by Jonathan Major, looking to recruit Scott Lang for a heist in the Quantum Realm. This movie will play a big part in the upcoming Avengers movie, Avengers: Kang Dynasty released in 2025.

6) Armor Wars

Other than that, Don Cheadle will return as War Machine in the upcoming Armor Wars series. The series will begin filming in 2023 and will take place right after the events of the Secret Invasion.

7) Fantastic Four

Not much regarding Fantastic Four was released during the expo, other than the fact that Matt Shakman, director for the Disney+ series WandaVision, will return to direct the movie. The movie is set to release in 2025. It looks like Fantastic Four fans will have to wait to know more about the movie.

8) Captain America: New World Order

Anthony Mackie is set to return as Sam Wilson, as the new Captain America. Also returning is Tim Blake Nelson, who last we see 14 years ago in 2008 The Incredible Hulk movie. Joaquín Torres, who we see in the Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, will become the new Falcon, taking over Sam Wilson.

9) Marvel’s Thunderbolts

The cast and members for the upcoming Marvel Thunderbolts were confirmed at the expo. The movie will star Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova and Sebastian Stan as the Winter Soldier/White Wolf along with previous MCU villains such as Red Guardian, U.S. Agent, Taskmaster, and Ghost.

10) The Marvel’s

The Marvel’s will feature Carol Danvers’ Captain Marvel alongside Kamala Khan’s Ms.Marvel and Monica Rambeau’s Spectrum. Footage in the expo shows all 3 heroes switching places with one another every time they use their powers. The new footage also shows Nick Fury. The Marvel’s will release in July 2023

11) Echo

Echo will release in the summer of 2023. Exclusive footage shows confirm the return of Vincent D’onofrio’s Kingpin.

12) Daredevil: Born Again

Daredevil: Born Again will premiere as a Disney+ series. We first see Matt Murdoc in Spider-Man: No Way Home and will feature in the upcoming episode of She-Hulk, where Daredevil and She-Hulk will team up.
