Actress Fauziah Nawi Received The Tokoh Anugerah Seri Angkasa Award (ASA)

Last night, one of Malaysia’s most respected actresses, Fauziah Nawi, received the Tokoh Seri Angkasa (ASA) award at the Malam Kemuncak ASA 2022.

RM10,000 in cash, a trophy and a car are the prices received by the veteran artist for her contributions to the creative arts industry, especially with her endless effort to voice the struggles of local artists.

Many congratulate the win of Fauziah Nawi, calling it ‘deserved after all her hard work’.

On her Facebook page, the actress, closely known as Ibu, shared multiple posts from fans congratulating her. 

Also, Ibu shared a heartfelt post. She sent her heart out to her deceased son, Allahwayarham Pit Hanif, expressing, “The life of [the deceased] Pitt Hanif accompanies me on this memorable day]”. 

Other honourable guests include:

Tan Sri Annuar Musa, the Communications and Multimedia Minister, presented the award at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC). 

Additionally, Datuk Zahidi Zainul Abidin, the minister of Deputy Communications and Multimedia and the ministry’s secretary-general Datuk Seri Mohammad Mentek, attended the ceremony.

Malaysian National News Agency (BERNAMA)’s chief executive officer, Roslan Ariffin, was also one of the attendees last night.

  • Best TV Documentary: ‘Social Playlist’ by Herbert Pua Kuo Jie
  • Best TV Drama: ‘Pencipta Pegang Waktu’ by Nor Shahila Harun Shah

Herbert brought home RM5,000 in cash, a trophy and RM150,000 from the Digital Content Fund (DKD). Meanwhile, Nor Shahila received RM5,000 in cash, a trophy and RM200,000 from DKD. 

ASA aims to appreciate everyone working behind and in front of the scene

ASA, formerly known as Anugerah RTM, created by the Ministry of Information in 1972, aspired to recognise the best radio and television programmes produced by RTM. 

The two-day event returns after the following six-year hiatus, organised by the Communications and Multimedia Ministry (K-KOMM).

Other celebrities that graced the event were Datuk Jamal Abdillah, Datuk M. Nasir, Datuk Jalaluddin Hassan, Datuk Rosyam Nor, Ella, Zulin Aziz, Sabri Yunus, Fauzi Nawawi, Lisdawati, Syafie Naswip, Nasha Aziz and Janna Nick. 

‘The Peak of Excellence’ was the event’s theme this year and saw prizes presented to winners of 34 categories tonight.  

Congratulations to Ibu Fauziah Nawi for getting the historical award. You truly deserve it!
