Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri 19 In Pondok Labu, Cilandak Tragedy

A devastating tragedy happened at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri (MTsN) 19 in Pondok Labu, Cilandak, South Jakarta. To those who might not know, the place was unfortunately hit by a huge flood. A wall then collapsed due to it and killed three students.

In a video circulating on social media platforms, the flooding that occurred at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri 19 was quite high. Some of the water’s levels reach the students’ waists. The most heartbreaking thing in the video was surely the sound of crying.

Cilandak Police Chief Kompol Multazam stated, “Information that we received 3 victims died, but to be sure our team from the Cilandak Police Unit is heading to the hospital to confirm whether 3 people have died”. That is a very sad piece of news to hear.

The Cilandak Police Chief suspects that the cause would be the high pressure of the water. The school building collapsed. The head of BPBD DKI Jakarta that is Isnawa Adji revealed that the three students who died were Dika, Dendis, and also Adnan E.

They were indeed none other than the grade 8 students. In addition, there was one victim who was injured named Aditya Daffa Luthfi who was from grade 8. After the incident, all victims were immediately taken to Pilkasih Hospital for further treatment.
