Man Who Hasn’t Washed For More Than 60 Years Dies At Age 94

Iranian man dubbed “the world’s dirtiest man” has died at the age of 94. Amou Haji died in the village of Dejgah in Iran.

Initially, he had refused to use soap and water as he believed that it would make him sick. Locals attempted to help get him clean but he refused.

However, a few months ago, he finally washed himself after pressure from the locals, local media reports.

The Iranian has said in the past that ’emotional failures in his adolescence’ influenced him to choose his peculiar style of living. As a result, he has been on his own ever since.

He thought that the idea of washing was repulsive. Pictures show his face covered in soot and dirt.

Haji also disliked fresh food and water. His go-to meal was spoiled porcupine, and he got his daily water quota of five litres from puddles. Not only that, he uses a old oil can to collect the water.

If Haji’s lifestyle wasn’t bizarre enough enough, he also enjoyed smoking animal faeces out of an old pipe instead of using tobacco.

Haji spent the majority of his life in the province of Fars located in Southern Iran. He had no wife and family, only the locals living there took care of him.

Upon learning that he was spending his nights in a hole, the locals banded together to construct a makeshift open brick hut for him. During the colder months, he would also cover his head with an old army helmet.

What’s amazing about Haji is that he was healthy up until his death, despite eating raw meat and rotten food. It is said that after years of living in harsh conditions, Haji has developed a strong immune system.
