Nurse Accused Of Killing 7 Babies In Britain

A neonatal nurse in Britain had killed seven babies consisting of five boys and two girls. She also tried to kill ten other infants by poisoning two infants with insulin.

A British prosecutor said the 32-year-old nurse had been charged with murder while working between 2015 to 2016. During the trial that took place at the Manchester Crown Court on Monday, the nurse denied all accusations.

The hospital saw a rise in the number of babies death starting in 2015. Nick Johnson, a prosecutor, said babies who were unstable suddenly become deteriorated during that time.

Doctors could not find the reason for the babies’ death and suffering. They decided to ask the police to take over. From the investigation, the police think that someone had poisoned the babies. The culprit is said to be someone from the neonatal unit who had given the two infants some insulin shots.

The infants were in critical condition. Their level of blood sugar dropped drastically. Thankfully, the medical staffs were quick to help. The person who was on duty at that time was the 32-year-old nurse. Prosecutors believe that the 32-year-old nurse was the culprit. She was on duty by the time the babies were poisoned.

Johnson described the nurse as a “constant malevolent presence.”
