‘Riuh Benor!’ Targets 20,000 Visitors

Riuh Benor!

The fifth edition of Kembara RIUH Keluarga Malaysia (KRKM) programme, ‘RIUH BENOR!’ is expecting about twenty thousand people, which will take place from Oct 21 to 23 at Bulatan Sultan Azlan Shah in Bandar Meru Raya, Perak.

The KRKM comes under the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia (K-KOMM) through the MyCreative Group (MyCreative) and aims to empower local creative industry activists and entrepreneurs in the country and create networking between the creative community and society.

It also wants to reflect the government’s concern and commitment to reviving the creative industry following the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a statement, MyCreative said Perak was chosen as the venue for KRKM this time because the state is rich with its cultural heritage and creative arts including the ‘Rebana Perak’, ‘Tarian Belotah and other interesting fashions.

In fact, the state is popular for its various traditional dishes like Nasi Lemuni, Ikan Pindang Daun Seniar and Kebebe.

Like previous KRKM programmes, ‘RIUH BENOR!’  is expected to showcase cultural shows, dance and music presentations, art exhibitions, pop-up shops, community activities and creative workshops like making concrete leaf pots, perfume, roped plant hangers, soy wax candles and hat colouring.

Previously,  the RIUH programme was only focused on the Klang Valley before going on tours to Johor, Sabah, Melaka and Kelantan in early 2022 through the Kembara RIUH Keluarga Malaysia

According to MyCreative, the fourth edition in Kelantan broke the record when an estimated 60,000 visitors came and at the same time support the creative industry at the ‘RIUH SOKMO! Bersama Celcom’.

MyCreative chief executive officer Junady Nawawi said in a statement said the KRKM programme has managed to create 3,238 jobs and supported 2,053 arts activists and the creative industry business and the momentum is expected to continue in Ipoh.

Överall, the KRKM programme is expected to create more than 7,000 jobs and support more than 5,000 activists and local creative businesses in 14 locations across the country,” he added.
