Migos’ Takeoff Killed In Houston Shooting At Age 28

Many fans are shocked and devastated by the news of US rapper Takeoff’s death last night. As reported by the media, Takeoff was shot dead at the age of 28 in a bowling alley in Houston.

The talented musician Kirshnik Khari Ball is one of the members of the chart-topping group Migos, along with Offset and Quavo.

What happened?

Takeoff was playing dice with his uncle and Quavo. Around 2:30 local time (7:30 GMT), the shooting happened while they were on a balcony outside the 810 Billiards and Bowling Alley.

Police stated that 40 to 50 guests were at a private party when the fire began. When the police arrived, they found a large crowd and a man with a gunshot wound to the head or neck. Later, sadly, Takeoff’s death was pronounced at the scene.

Two injured people were recorded from the shooting and were driven to the hospital in private vehicles.

However, no arrests have been made. As of now, there’s still no further information about the incident.

Houston’s Mayor Sylvester Turner released a statement at a news conference on Tuesday afternoon. He pleaded, “Please step up, get the information to us so we can bring some closure to this family who’s hurting right now.”

The Hip-hop industry loses another star

Drew Findling, Takeoff’s lawyer, told the New York Times, “[Takeoff’s death] was a devastating loss, particularly for Atlanta,” his hometown.

Findling added, “There was a sense of peacefulness about his aura. The world was starting to learn about Takeoff. It was his time to shine.”

Fellow artists paid tribute to the rapper’s demise on Twitter, expressing their remorse for another talented star’s death.

Migos consists of Takeoff, Offset and Quavo— that grew up together in Lawrenceville, Georgia. They proudly represent their state’s capital, Atlanta, with their music, championing the state’s musical identity: trap music.

We’re sending our deepest condolences to Takeoff, his family and his loved ones. May he rest in peace.
