A Precious Birthday Message From His Dad, Made Robert Irwin Cry

It has been 16 years since Steve Irwin, the ‘Crocodile Hunter’ left us. Recently, his only son, Robert, just turned 19 years old. He was just three when his father left him due to the massive trauma of being pierced in the heart by a stingray.

From footage uploaded on Youtube, he received heartwarming birthday wishes from his close companions.

The wishes were shown in a video at Australia Zoo. It soon got sentimental when Robert’s late father, Steve Irwin, was also there in the video.

The message revealed Steve discussing Robert’s birth. He hoped for his son to follow his step of being the ‘crocodile hunter.’ Steve also added that he was taking part in securing the wildlife. Thus, he felt like his children needed to continue his legacy, and that he would be so proud if they did.

Little that he knew, Robert is now following in his father’s footsteps. Just like Steve, he is a television personality who educates people about wildlife, a conservationist, and a zookeeper at Australia zoo. In addition, he is also a wildlife photographer.

Upon watching the video, Robert cried and said, “It means the absolute world. I just think it’s such a privilege, personally and as a family, to continue the legacy of dad.”

Steve and his wife, Terri, have two children, Bindi and Robert. Both of their children work at the Australia Zoo alongside their mother.
