Adam Sandler Is The Next Recipient Of the Mark Twain Prize For American Humor

Everyone is familiar with Adam Sandler. The comedian and actor has starred in many box-office movies. Due to his countless performances in the comedy film industry, he will receive the prestigious Mark Twain Prize For American Humor.

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts revealed that the comedian would be receiving the award on March 19. He is also the 24th recipient of the award after Richard Pryor, Carl Reiner, Whoopi Goldberg, and many more.

“Adam Sandler has entertained audiences for over three decades with his films, music, and his tenure as a fan favorite cast member on ‘SNL.’ Adam has created characters that have made us laugh, cry, and cry from laughing,” said Deborah F. Rutter, the Kennedy Center President.

The award is to appreciate celebrities who have had an impact on American society, like humorist Mark Twain. For additional information, aside from being a humorist, Mark Twain was an American writer and publisher. People described as “the greatest humorist the United States has produced.”

Back to Sandler, who is now 56, began his career in the industry when he was in his early 20s. He is mostly known for his roles in Billy Madison, Big Daddy, Happy Gilmore, Just Go With It, and Murder Mystery.
