Anthony Loke Conducted Another ‘Spot Check’! This Time It’s In KLIA2!

The Minister of Transport is on a roll again! This morning, Anthony Loke conducted a surprise spot check at Level 1, KLIA2!

Previously, Anthony Loke visited LRT Kelana Jaya and KTM to observe the fluidity of Malaysia’s transport system. He came during peak hours, as the minister said, he wanted to experience what the locals experience every day to work.

Not only that, but he went into disguise while supervising the LRT and KTM! However, on his surprise visit to the KLIA2, he wasn’t dressed in all black.

Anthony Loke spots a few shortcomings

In his Facebook post, the minister spotted a few shortcomings in the airport. One of them was the e-hailing waiting area.

According to Anthony, the waiting area could be improved. Since many passengers use services like Grab, MyCar and others, the airport should prioritise more on comfortability. It could be a long wait before their ride arrives. Therefore, Anthony encourages the space to be enhanced accordingly.

Next, the uneven pathway due to sinkhole dangers passersby. The responsible authorities have appointed a contractor to have this issue fixed immediately. The upgrading process begins expectedly at the end of January 2023.

Afterwards, Anthony Loke said the lighting system would be on their ‘to-upgrade’ list. With a better lighting system, the airport won’t be as dull. Thus, it’s safer for passengers arriving and departing at night.

The minister calls stakeholders to take action

Anthony Loke invites all stakeholders to help make a difference in the airport. Their effort to make better gives a more holistic and inviting experience for the KLIA2 users.

For your information, the minister visited the airport this morning before he launched the ‘fixed fare midnight flights’ in Red Q, AirAsia.

We hope the minister’s constant approach to settling the concerns of many regarding the transport system in Malaysia will show a gradual improvement.
