And this is what Miri Doe (@miri.doe) feels as she is one of the survivors of the tragic stampede.

Miri bore her heart out and shared snippets of what had happened that night to her and her friends, who sadly didn’t make it.

On her TikTok account, Miri uploaded several videos that go into everything she went through that horrifying night.

“We just wanted to have a really good time”

Like other visitors, Miri went to Itaewon that Halloween night to have a good time. Miri wanted to show her friend that Halloween at Itaewon was fun.

However, since it was the first time they could openly celebrate since the COVID-19 lockdown, their harmless intention turned into a heartbreaking downfall.

She felt sad and angry with herself because she didn’t get to save her friends. The guilt and remorse stuck to her even when she opened her eyes.

“The crowd that night was crazy”

Miri shared that the night was jam-packed with people. They had to commute to Itaewon walking because the road was congested. It was impossible to haul a taxi.

Furthermore, the crowd was also out of control. There were so many people on the road that night. Thus, it led to a suffocating catastrophe.

“I don’t know how I’m still alive”

She’s the sole survivor out of the group of four. Miri tripped and fell. She was also separated from her friends as the sea of people swept her further away.

At that moment, Miri was convinced she wouldn’t survive. She was certain that night would be the last time she woke up.

Thankfully, she survived the crash. Although she suffered severe kidney and liver damage, broken ribs and a neck, luck was on her side and helped her through the tragedy.

Miri believed she survived because she still had so many things to do. It wasn’t her time yet to go. The thought of wanting to pursue her passion and love for music pushed Miri to be strong until today.

Additionally, Miri shared her experience and recovery extensively in other videos [Disclaimer: some of the videos contain sensitive issues. Do watch at your own risk]:

Many people are glad that Miri made it today. They share their warm thoughts and prayers in the comment section.
