The beautician from Coventry, England, suffers a fractured spine. She’s now receiving treatment to drain fluid from her chest caused by the tragic accident.

Initially, Maddi travelled to Thailand with her partner for a three-week holiday. It was supposed to be a time of her life, but tragedy ensued as she trampled from the low balcony after celebrating the new year.

According to her friend, she heard the screams coming from Maddi. Luckily, Maddi’s friend was staying in a nearby room. The ambulance arrived around 30 to 40 minutes after the call and immediately put her in a neck brace.

The British beautician received treatment at a hospital in Kong Pha Ngan. However, she is transferred to a hospital in mainland Surat Thani in a three-hour boat ride.

Maddi’s mother, Karen, told Metro UK that the cause of the incident was still unclear.

She said, “We’re waiting to hear back from the British Embassy, and we’re trying to keep everyone updated as best as we can.”

Karen stated that many people wish Maddi to be healthy again on Facebook.

We hope Maddi will regain consciousness and recuperate well.
