The American Remake Of ‘Crash Landing On You’ Will Be Getting A Sci-Fi Touch

Crash Landing On You becomes one of the hit K-dramas since its premiere on Netflix and tvN in 2019. Not just that, but because of its popularity around Asia, there will be the American version of Crash Landing On You. The news of the remake of the drama has been talked about since 2021.

New information came out recently about the American remake of the K-drama. According to Bela Bajaria, Netflix‘s global head of television in an interview with Jinny Howe, the vice president of drama series, the remake will be a little different from the original.

The original version of Crash Landing On You touches on people from two different countries — South Korea and North Korea. Talking about the American remake, Howe is thinking of a sci-fi genre.

“So, I think we’re gonna see if maybe we can make that divide a little bit more symbolic.” We’re looking into sci-fi,” said the vice president of drama series for US and Canada’s Netflix.

The Korean Crash Landing On You stars real-life married couple Son Ye-Jin and Hyun Bin. Ye-Jin acts as an heiress who accidentally finds herself in North Korea after a paragliding accident. Meanwhile, Hyun Bin is a North Korean soldier who finds Ye-Jin and helps her return back home.

But if the American remake will have a sci-fi touch on it, how do you think the story will go?
