Revolutionizing Pet Nutrition, Elevate Pet’s Well-Being

Pet World Nutritions Sdn Bhd and Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) unveiled the collaborative efforts in advancing companion animal health by signing a Collaborative Agreement between Mr PY Choy, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Pet World Nutritions, Prof. Dato Dr. Quaza Nizamuddin, Independent Non-Executive Director of PETWORLD, and Prof. Dr. Md. Zuki Abu Bakar, Deputy Dean of Research & Postgraduate Studies of Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, together with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hasliza Abu Hassim of UPM.

This strategic alliance has redefined the landscape of pet well-being through the utilisation of cutting-edge research, aiming to elevate pet nutrition. It underscores our unyielding dedication, as a pet-loving company devoted to the well-being of pets, and to the principles of continuous learning and innovation, all geared towards building optimal pet health. This ceremonial act solidified the commitment to confidentiality and marked a crucial step in the collaboration’s progression.

Leveraging the strengths of the prominent pet food industry leader and renowned institution of higher learning in pet health and nutrition, this collaboration is set to be the game-changer in the pet food landscape and paves the way for Malaysia to set a footprint on the global stage for companion animal research and development which traditionally dominated by the western world. The groundbreaking research conducted by UPM, complemented by the industry expertise of Pet World Nutritions, focuses on comprehensive digestibility studies involving the integration of enzyme-digested peptides into pet food formulations. The enzyme is made from patented Japanese microbial technology.

Beyond scientific exploration, this initiative will serve as a catalyst for community education, shedding light on the multifaceted functional advantages of enzyme-digested peptides for our beloved pets. By enhancing digestion, optimising nutrient absorption, and mitigating the risk of food allergenicity, this joint effort is committed to advancing the well-being of our furry companions. The microbes secrete enzymes to cleave protein chains into smaller peptides, releasing amino acids that contribute to savoury “meaty” flavours. This can make bland ingredients like plant proteins more appealing to pets.

With the power of innovative research methodologies, Pet World Nutritions, the brand owner of ProDiet, ProBalance, Delizios, Le Gourmet and SIMPLE constantly strives to deliver uncompromising pet nutrition to prolong the lives of pets, in creating more memories together. Our mission extends beyond individual pet well-being as we actively contribute to the broader community’s health by owning a pet, all while maintaining an accessible and reasonable price point yet superior in quality. Pet World Nutritions is always dedicated to staying ahead in the pet food game. We make sure our pet food quality is top-notch and keeps up with the latest innovations back with science.

“Harnessing the collective expertise of Pet World Nutritions and UPM, we aim to pioneer innovative research methodologies to explore new frontiers in pet nutrition. Focused on improving the health and longevity of our beloved pets, our collaborative efforts will result in pet food formulations that set new standards in nutritional excellence,” said PY Choy, CEO of Pet World Nutritions.

The Research and Development Collaboration Between Universiti Putra Malaysia and Pet World Nutritions showcased the union of academia and the pet food industry, promising breakthroughs in pet wellness and academia-industry synergy. The closure speech expressed gratitude to attendees and emphasised a shared commitment to impact the health and happiness of pets through innovative research in companion animal health.
