MTDC Hosts Landmark Event: ‘Majlis Pelancaran Citra MTDC @ Majlis Hari Raya Bersama-Sama Rakan Niaga 2024’

The Malaysian Technology Development Corporation (MTDC) is prepared to host the ‘Majlis Pelancaran CITRA MTDC @ Majlis Hari Raya MTDC Bersama-sama Rakan Niaga 2024’ on the 25th April 2024, from 11:30 in the morning to 12:30 in the afternoon at Level 2, Block B, TIC III, UPM-MTDC Technology Centre, Universiti Putra Malaysia, Serdang, Selangor. The event gathered esteemed guests from various sectors to witness the unveiling of CITRA MTDC and celebrate achievements in technology and innovation.

The ‘Majlis Pelancaran CITRA MTDC @ Majlis Hari Raya MTDC Bersama-sama Rakan Niaga 2024′ represents a significant step forward for MTDC in its commitment to driving sustainable growth. The presence of YB Dato’ Haji Mohammad Yusof Apdal, Deputy Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation (MOSTI), underscores the importance of this occasion and the support extended by the government towards technological advancement and innovation in Malaysia.

In his opening address, YB Dato’ Yusof Apdal, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to gather and witness the launch of CITRA MTDC, a significant milestone for MTDC for gracing the event and witnessing the handover of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between MTDC and its strategic partners.

The event was attended by representatives from government ministries, agencies, universities, and ecosystem companies, including funding recipients and companies operating within MTDC Technology Centers. Attendees had the opportunity to explore an exhibition showcasing products from MTDC ecosystem companies and network with industry peers.

Reflecting on MTDC’s background and achievements, YBhg. Tan Sri Abd Rahman Mamat, Chairman of MTDC highlighted MTDC’s pivotal role in driving technological development in Malaysia over the past 32 years. With over 850 local startups funded and invested in, MTDC has played a crucial role in nurturing entrepreneurship and innovation in the technology sector.

MTDC’s commitment to providing financial assistance and value-added services has resulted in remarkable achievements, including generating over RM7 billion in sales revenue from invested companies. The agency’s ability to attract private investment, create high-skilled job opportunities, and foster collaboration with universities and research institutions demonstrates its dedication to driving sustainable economic growth through technology and innovation.

Furthermore, several MTDC-funded companies have successfully entered global markets, with some listed on local and international stock exchanges, achieving market capitalization exceeding RM1 billion. In 2023 alone, four MTDC-funded companies were listed on the local stock exchange, with a total investment of RM27.91 million and a market capitalization of nearly RM3 billion.

The ‘Majlis Hari Raya MTDC Bersama-sama Rakan Niaga’ celebration is an annual event, where MTDC always brings something unique to the event and showcases the technology developed by the MTDC ecosystem companies. In 2024, MTDC once again aims to create excitement for the guests, featuring a launch session for the redefined look and feel of MTDC, showcasing the new appearance of the MTDC website ‘www.mtdc.com.my’ and the launch of MTDC’s new campaigns.

The CITRA MTDC session represents a fresh look and feel for the website, dedicated to providing website visitors with a bright, colourful, and new layout, enhancing the practicality of accessing information about MTDC’s role, functions, and services. MTDC has always evolved with the trends to provide the best for the community and the nation.
