Perdana University today announced its collaboration with Bin Zayed International (M) Berhad to award scholarship programmes to 11 outstanding students from the B40 community. This life-transforming initiative will enable deserving students to pursue medical education, ensuring that financial constraints will not hinder their aspirations to become future doctors.
This initiative is in alignment with Perdana University’s mission: To nurture talent to achieve full intellectual potential and serve humanity with the highest level of professionalism and integrity. By making quality education accessible to the B40 community, the university fosters a paradigm shift in how opportunities are extended to less-privileged students, transforming their lives and uplifting their families’ socio-economic standing.
In a video message at the event, YB Datuk TS. Mustapha Sakmud, Deputy Minister of Higher Education said, “I welcome the initiative and contribution of both Bin Zayed International and Perdana University through this Annual Scholarship Program for medical students in an effort to bridge the educational gap. I hope that this scholarship will be able to help these students build a bright future in the field of medicine and at the same time help the country empower quality, comfortable and people-friendly health services.”

With close to RM5 million in funding, 11 bright Malaysians now have the chance to pursue their dream of becoming doctors. Perdana University has been at the forefront of medical education for over 14 years. The official launch of its medical school in 2011 marked the beginning of a tradition dedicated to excellence in medical training. Over the years, Perdana University has collaborated with esteemed international institutions, incorporating best practices that uphold the highest global standards in medical education.
To date, more than 400 graduates have completed their medical training at Perdana University, many of whom are now serving as Medical Officers, making a tangible impact in the healthcare sector. Building on its legacy, Perdana University has now established its independent Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) programme, leveraging the knowledge and expertise gained from past collaborations to provide a world-class medical education.
