Experian Malaysia is thrilled to announce the resounding success of “Leaders on the Walk.” This landmark Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) event, held in the vibrant spirit of Merdeka, saw an unprecedented convergence of over 20 prominent C-suite and industry leaders walking with over 300 university students, fresh graduates, early career professionals and budding people managers over a dynamic 5-kilometer route. The initiative effectively bridged the gap and broke the barriers between seasoned leadership and emerging talent, fostering direct mentorship and invaluable dialogue outside traditional, formal settings.
The event, which is a first of its kind, took place at the majestic Perdana Botanical Garden. Situated in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, this 221-acre recreational sanctuary that was established in 1888, provided the perfect setting of calm, serenity and lush greenery – creating a unique, interactive, and immersive platform for both mentors and mentees. Mentees seized the extraordinary opportunity to connect directly with top industry leaders, gaining critical insights, seeking guidance, and absorbing real-world leadership wisdom through meaningful, informal conversations during the walk. This format offered a refreshing departure from conventional panel talks or conferences, blending physical activity with authentic mentorship.
“We are incredibly proud of the profound impact “Leaders on the Walk” has had. This event truly embodied the spirit of Merdeka, allowing established leaders to ‘give back’ to the future talents of our nation. The energy and genuine engagement between the leaders and the mentees were truly inspiring, reinforcing our steadfast commitment to building a robust mentorship ecosystem and preparing the next generation for real-world leadership challenges.” said Chua Chai Ping, Country Head and HR Director of Experian Malaysia.
She added, “Leaders on the Walk” is not envisioned as a one-off activity. Instead, it marks the start of a longer-term mentorship ecosystem, designed to continuously nurture and empower future leaders in Malaysia. Experian Malaysia, with the support from our partners from GBS Networking Circle and PIKOM–GBS Malaysia, is eager to build on this success and remain dedicated to championing leadership development and nation-building initiatives for years to come.”
The robust support from both large corporations and academic institutions underscored a shared commitment to shaping future-ready graduates. By fostering open, inclusive dialogue and enabling direct access to industry veterans, “Leaders on the Walk” delivered on its core mission: to inspire, mentor, and equip the next generation with the insights and confidence needed to lead. This purpose-driven initiative stands as a powerful testament to the value of experiential learning and meaningful engagement in cultivating Malaysia’s future leaders.
