The KLCC Precinct is turning up its green commitment with the third edition of Sustainable September, this year themed “Liveable and Lovable Precinct”, echoing DBKL’s vision for Kuala Lumpur as a city that’s not only sustainable but also people-friendly.
Launched at KLCC Park by Kuala Lumpur Mayor Datuk Seri TPr. (Dr.) Maimunah Mohd Sharif alongside KLCC Holdings Group CEO Datuk Sr Mohd Salem Kailany, the campaign puts community and environment at the heart of the city’s most iconic precinct.
The day kicked off with a fun run, tree-planting ceremony, and Zumba session, a snapshot of what Sustainable September is about: protecting the environment while boosting wellbeing for those who live, work, and visit KL.
This year also introduces a precinct-wide fundraising drive, with hotels, retail, and partners across KLCC offering packages at special rates. The goal? To raise RM30,000 for sustainability-focused community causes.
Adding even more impact, KLCCBEA is collaborating with FRIM to plant 48 new trees at KLCC Park this month, supporting the national “100 Million Trees” campaign and strengthening the park’s role as the city’s green lung.
“Sustainability is not an add-on, it’s at the heart of our vision,” said John Burke, Chairman of KLCCBEA. “Through our collaboration with DBKL, Urbanice Malaysia, and KLCC Holdings, we’re shaping a precinct that’s world-class, future-ready, and inspiring in its approach to sustainability.”
Since its debut in 2022, Sustainable September has grown from a precinct initiative to a model recognised regionally, even being presented at the ASEAN Sustainable Urbanisation Forum earlier this year.
Now in its third year, the campaign continues to unite partners and communities, pushing KLCC Precinct closer to becoming a showcase of sustainable urban living in the heart of Kuala Lumpur.
