From Green Cups to New Generations, 75 Years of MILO® Keeping Malaysians Energised

For 75 years, MILO® has been more than just a chocolate malt drink, it’s been part of our mornings, our childhood, and our national identity. From the sound of a tin being opened before school to those iconic green trucks at sports day, MILO® has powered Malaysians through generations.

To mark this milestone, MILO® is hosting a five-day celebration called ‘Arena Sarapan Juara’ (Breakfast of Champions Arena) at Sunway Pyramid, from 29 October to 2 November 2025. The event promises a mix of nostalgia and energy, from healthy breakfast booths and family-friendly activities to a showcase of MILO®’s journey through the decades.

But the brand’s story goes beyond breakfast. Since day one, MILO® has championed nutrition, sports, and sustainability. It’s the first chocolate malt drink in Malaysia to receive the Healthier Choice Logo, proving that good energy can also be good for you. Its roots in sports run deep too, from Klinik Juara MILO® and Hidup Bola to MILO® Breakfast Day, the brand has been on the sidelines (and sometimes the finish line) of Malaysia’s biggest sporting moments.

Many local athletes, from school runners to national icons, grew up under the MILO® banner. It’s a name that reminds us of early morning trainings, muddy fields, and that one satisfying sip after a big win.

Now, MILO® is also taking big steps toward a greener future through its Energy for Good initiative. At its Chembong factory in Negeri Sembilan, the largest MILO® facility in the world, the brand is investing in renewable energy, reducing waste, and finding smarter ways to package responsibly.

After 75 years, one thing hasn’t changed: that signature taste that powers Malaysians from sunrise to success. And as MILO® looks to the future, its mission remains the same, to keep fueling generations with energy, purpose, and heart.

“For 75 years, MILO® has played an important role in supporting sports, schools and communities across Malaysia,” said Ng Su Yen, Business Executive Officer of MILO® at Nestlé (Malaysia) Berhad. “This milestone marks a new chapter as we continue to fuel generations with energy for good and build a greener, more active future.”
