Emma Raducanu Joins UNIQLO as Global Brand Ambassador

UNIQLO, the Japanese global apparel retailer, announces a unique new partnership with Emma Raducanu.

The 2021 US Open champion is Britain’s top-ranked female tennis player and the first British woman to win a Grand Slam singles title since 1977.

Raducanu joins UNIQLO as its newest Global Brand Ambassador and will represent UNIQLO at all tennis tournaments, starting with the Indian Wells Open in the US in March.

Raducanu will join other UNIQLO Global Brand Ambassadors, including tennis icons Roger Federer and Shingo Kunieda, as well as actor Cate Blanchett, to promote the brand’s LifeWear philosophy.

She will help highlight UNIQLO’s focus on excellence, social contribution, and nurturing the next generation. Raducanu will also take part in shaping the design and function of her on-court apparel.

Through these efforts, she will play an active role in representing and advancing the LifeWear vision.

Speaking of the announcement, Raducanu said,

“I am very pleased to join UNIQLO and to work closely with its amazing team of Global Brand Ambassadors. UNIQLO and I share many values and perspectives on life, culture, and society. I am excited to promote LifeWear through my tennis career, and to working with everybody at UNIQLO to inspire and engage young people everywhere.”

Commenting on the announcement, Koji Yanai, Group Senior Executive Officer, Fast Retailing, said,

As UNIQLO Global Brand Ambassador, Raducanu’s primary role will be to represent UNIQLO and to promote LifeWear internationally through her tennis career.

She will play an active role in designing her on-court apparel and contribute directly to its development.

She will also take part in community-engagement activities worldwide, working with UNIQLO at various coaching events.

These events fall under the UNIQLO Next Generation Development Program for skilled young tennis players and youth from underserved areas.

In addition, she will support communities in need through initiatives such as UNIQLO Peace for All and The Heart of LifeWear.
