RIMOWA Launches New Short-Form Series with Michelle Yeoh’s Golden Career Moment

For decades, RIMOWA has collaborated with cultural icons to spotlight the passion, discipline, and resilience behind mastering a craft.

Now, the German Maison is bringing those stories even closer through a new short-form series that follows global talents during milestone moments in their careers.

The series offers an intimate, behind-the-scenes look at the dedication and perseverance that shape creative journeys.

Instead of focusing only on the final achievement, it dives into the process; the years of hard work, curiosity, and courage that lead to defining moments.

A Berlinale Tribute to a Global Icon

The first episode shines the spotlight on Malaysian acting legend Michelle Yeoh.

Directed by French Moroccan filmmaker Otman Qrita, the film captures Yeoh during a career-defining moment at the opening ceremony of the Berlin International Film Festival.

During the ceremony, Yeoh receives the prestigious Honorary Golden Bear, recognising her extraordinary contributions to global cinema.

The moment marks a powerful milestone for the actress, whose career has spanned languages, cultures, and genres for decades.

Reflecting on the honour, Yeoh shared how far her journey has taken her: from a Malaysian girl who loved discipline, dance, and dreaming without limits to a global film icon whose work continues to captivate audiences worldwide.

Her long-standing connection with Germany and the Berlinale makes the recognition even more meaningful.

A Bespoke Case Worthy of a Legacy

When a lifetime achievement deserves safeguarding, RIMOWA steps in with craftsmanship to match the moment.

To commemorate Yeoh’s milestone, the Maison created a bespoke case designed specifically to house the Golden Bear.

Crafted at RIMOWA’s historic production site in Cologne, Germany, the case features the brand’s signature anodised grooved aluminium.

It also draws inspiration from the iconic RIMOWA Classic Collection, complete with a leather handle, polished silver accents, and a TSA-approved lock.

Inside, a custom inlay holds the Golden Bear securely, allowing it to travel safely or be displayed elegantly at home.

More than just a protective case, the piece symbolises the same values that shaped Yeoh’s career, discipline, curiosity, risk-taking, and mastery of craft.

As the series continues later this year, RIMOWA plans to spotlight more inspiring talents at defining moments, reminding us that true mastery is always a journey.
