From Sketchbook to Every Tap: Touch ’n Go x Bunga dan Bintang LED Charms Bring Local Art into Everyday Journeys

Kuala Lumpur, 8 June 2026 – For Malaysian artist Kirin Sharom, what began as a simple sketch has found its way into the everyday journeys of people across the country. Her whimsical world of Bunga dan Bintang now comes to life through the Touch ’n Go x Bunga dan Bintang Limited Edition LED Charms.

First introduced through the Touch ’n Go x Bunga dan Bintang Limited Edition Cards on 17 April 2026, the collaboration now evolves from card to charm with the release of the Touch ’n Go x Bunga dan Bintang Limited Edition LED Charms. The latest release marks Touch ’n Go’s first-ever design using epoxy material, bringing local artwork beyond the traditional card canvas and into a tactile, light-up payment accessory that moves with users throughout their day.

The charms feature two designs, Pawsitive Only and Mew Can Do It!, each carrying Bunga dan Bintang’s signature softness, playful cat characters and nature-inspired details. Crafted with epoxy material and embedded with LED lights, the charms light up with every tap, adding a small moment of delight to otherwise routine journeys.

At the heart of the collection is a story rooted in biophilia, the human love for nature. Created by Kirin Sharom, Artist & Director of Bunga dan Bintang Studio, the designs draw from flora, fauna and the comfort of everyday companionship, with cats appearing as cheerful characters that bring warmth and personality to the series.

“The Bunga dan Bintang artwork is inspired by biophilia, the human love for nature, so flora, fauna and cat characters are at the heart of the designs. I imagined these charms travelling with people every day, bringing a little happiness and motivation wherever they go. As a local artist, seeing my work become a functional Touch ’n Go product with a homegrown Malaysian brand is incredibly meaningful. It has always been my dream to see more local artists represented in everyday items like travel cards and charms,” said Kirin Sharom, Artist & Director, Bunga dan Bintang Studio.

For Touch ’n Go, the collaboration reflects the brand’s continued effort to champion Malaysian creativity through everyday products. As a homegrown brand, Touch ’n Go has worked with local artists and creative partners to turn limited-edition cards and payment accessories into canvases for local storytelling. From its earlier card release to this first-ever epoxy material LED charm, the Bunga dan Bintang collaboration brings art into moments that are familiar to millions of Malaysians, from daily commutes and weekend drives to public transport rides and quick parking stops.

With this latest release, the introduction of epoxy material adds a new dimension to the design, enhancing its texture and visual appeal while strengthening its collectability. The result is a charm that is not only practical, but also personal, a small piece of local art made to move with its user.

While the charm carries a strong creative story, it remains designed for everyday use. Each Touch ’n Go x Bunga dan Bintang Limited Edition LED Charm functions like a Touch ’n Go card and can be used for toll, public transit and parking payments. It also comes with NFC technology, allowing users to reload conveniently via the Touch ’n Go eWallet.

More than a collectible, the charm shows how everyday payment tools can carry meaning beyond function. By bringing together local artistry, self-expression, product innovation and the convenience of the Touch ’n Go ecosystem, the release offers users a small but personal way to add character to their everyday movement.

Priced at RM55.90 each, the Touch ’n Go x Bunga dan Bintang Limited Edition LED Charms are now available in Pawsitive Only and Mew Can Do It! designs.

The charms can also be used for Travel Pass purchases, including My50, via the Touch ’n Go eWallet.
