LG Electronics’ InstaView refrigerator has reached 5.3 million units in global sales, marking a decade since the see-through-door innovation first launched in 2016.
That works out to roughly one InstaView refrigerator sold every minute, highlighting its popularity among consumers around the world.
North America remains the biggest market, accounting for around 30% of total sales, while the product has also gained traction in Europe, Asia and Latin America.
The InstaView feature lets users see inside the refrigerator by simply knocking twice on the door, allowing them to check their food without opening it and potentially reducing unnecessary cold-air loss.

Over the past decade, the technology has also picked up major international design and innovation awards, including the Red Dot Design Award, iF Design Award, IDEA and CES Innovation Award.
But LG says consumer interest has evolved beyond convenience. More recent reviews increasingly highlight the refrigerator’s design and the overall experience it brings to everyday kitchen life.
After 10 years and more than five million units sold, LG’s InstaView has gone from a futuristic refrigerator feature to a familiar part of modern kitchens worldwide.
