HUAWEI WATCH 6 Finally Arrives With Diabetes Risk Studies And Smarter Gesture Controls

Smartwatches are no longer just about counting steps or checking notifications. Huawei’s latest HUAWEI WATCH 6 Series takes things further with smarter health monitoring, independent connectivity and more intuitive everyday interactions.

Launched in Malaysia on 3 November 2026, the series comes in two versions: the HUAWEI WATCH 6 and HUAWEI WATCH 6 Pro. Here are some of its standout features worth checking out.

1. Keep Tabs On Your Hypertension And Diabetes Risks

One of the biggest highlights of the HUAWEI WATCH 6 Series is its focus on proactive health monitoring. It introduces both Hypertension Risk Study and Diabetes Risk Study, making it the first smartwatch in Malaysia to support both health risk studies.

This is particularly relevant as the National Health and Morbidity Survey (NHMS) 2023 found that 29.2% of Malaysian adults are living with hypertension, with 40.7% unaware of their condition.

The watch also features an upgraded X-TAP sensor with a 20-level tactile sensor and 12-channel PPG sensor. Paired with Health Glance, users can access an overview of 13 health metrics covering basic, cardiovascular, endocrine and respiratory health in just 60 seconds. Other features, including Morning Briefing, Physical Readiness Score and Health Analysis, offer additional insights into daily wellbeing.

2. Control Your Watch With Simple Hand Gestures

Forget constantly tapping through menus. The HUAWEI WATCH 6 Series introduces new gesture interactions, including Quick Flip, Pinch and Slide, allowing users to manage selected functions through simple hand movements.

These controls make everyday interactions more intuitive, especially when users need to access certain functions without navigating the watch manually. It also comes with the Celia assistant for added convenience.

3. Make Calls Without Carrying Your Phone

With built-in eSIM connectivity, users can make and receive calls directly from the watch, even when their smartphones are out of reach. This makes it handy for situations where carrying a phone around isn’t always convenient.

It also supports Dual-Phone Connection, allowing users to stay connected across two smartphones. Beyond calls, users can access Petal Maps, music and audiobooks independently, making the watch more than just an extension of their phone.

4. Explore Over 100 Sports Modes, Including Freediving

Whether you’re into everyday workouts or outdoor adventures, the watch supports more than 100 sports modes, including trail running, golf and freediving at depths of up to 40 metres.

It also features AI Workout Analysis, which interprets workout data to provide more meaningful insights into users’ performance and training. For those who enjoy exploring the outdoors, the HUAWEI WATCH 6 Pro comes with an Expedition App featuring route planning, offline maps, waypoint marking and return navigation.

5. Up To 11 Days Of Battery Life

Frequent charging might be less of a concern with the HUAWEI WATCH 6 Series. Depending on usage mode, the 42mm models offer up to 7 days of battery life, while the 46mm models can last up to 11 days.

This gives users more flexibility between charges while keeping up with their everyday health tracking, workouts and connected features.

6. Sapphire Glass Meets Premium Materials

The HUAWEI WATCH 6 Series also pays attention to design and comfort. The Pro model features premium materials such as titanium alloy and nano-tech ceramic, while the standard WATCH 6 comes with a lighter design and Huawei’s EasyCross strap for a more comfortable fit.

Both versions feature spherical sapphire glass for added durability and display clarity. The Pro models also offer display brightness of up to 3,500 nits, bringing together a refined look and practical everyday wearability.

HUAWEI FreeBuds SE 5 Max: Up To 80 Hours Of Playback For Just RM159

A good pair of everyday earbuds should offer more than just decent sound. The HUAWEI FreeBuds SE 5 Max brings together long battery life, adaptive noise cancellation and versatile connectivity, all at an affordable RM159.

Launched alongside the HUAWEI WATCH 6 Series, here are three features worth checking out.

1. Up To 80 Hours Of Playback With The Charging Case

Battery life is one of the biggest selling points of the FreeBuds SE 5 Max. The earbuds offer up to 10 hours of playback on a single charge, extending to 80 hours with the charging case.

That’s plenty of listening time for music, podcasts and other entertainment throughout the week, with fewer charging interruptions.

2. Block Out Noise With 52dB Adaptive ANC And Enjoy Hi-Res Audio

The earbuds feature up to 52dB Adaptive Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) to help reduce surrounding noise, making them useful for listening during commutes or while working.

They also come with a six-microphone system for clearer calls across different environments. For audio quality, the earbuds are Hi-Res Audio certified with LDAC support, delivering greater detail and richer sound for music and entertainment.

3. Connect Across Devices With Bluetooth 6.0

With Bluetooth 6.0 and Dual-Device connectivity, users can connect the earbuds to two devices for a more flexible listening experience.

They support both iOS and Android smartphones, as well as laptops, making it convenient to switch between work and personal devices. The IP55 water and dust resistance rating also makes them suitable for everyday commuting, work and workouts.

Pricing And Availability

The HUAWEI WATCH 6 starts at RM1,799, with the 46mm variant available in Black and Blue, and the 42mm variant in Gold. Meanwhile, the HUAWEI WATCH 6 Pro starts at RM2,699, offered in the 46mm Space Edition and 43mm Ceramic Edition.

Customers purchasing the HUAWEI WATCH 6 Series can also enjoy complimentary gifts worth up to RM993, including HUAWEI FreeBuds SE 2, HUAWEI Health+ three-month membership, HUAWEI Watch Face one-month membership, one-year APAC Warranty, one-year Worry-Free Package and an additional watch strap.

As for the HUAWEI FreeBuds SE 5 Max, the earbuds are priced at RM159.

Both the HUAWEI WATCH 6 Series and HUAWEI FreeBuds SE 5 Max are available at HUAWEI Experience Stores and through HUAWEI’s official online channels, including the HUAWEI Official Website, HUAWEI Official Store on Shopee, HUAWEI Flagship Store on Lazada, and HUAWEI Official TikTok Shop.
