RIYADH, May 3 – Foreign pilgrims and visitors who are visiting Saudi Arabia must now have insurance coverage against the risk of coronavirus (COVID-19) infections.
Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported that the latest requirement to the insurance policy coverage was announced by the Saudi Central Bank and the Council of Cooperative Health Insurance on Sunday.
The step is aimed at providing health care to the insured persons in case of exposure to COVID-19 infections during their stay in the Kingdom and to allow patients received speedy access to health services.
It also provides insurance covering for the costs of detected cases as well as the costs of quarantine for the infected, in addition to emergency cases of medical evacuation, SPA added.
