Ivermectin, sold under the brand name Stromectol among others, is a medication that is now used to treat COVID-19 infections. Other than that, it is also majorly used for parasite infestations. In humans, this includes head lice, scabies, river blindness, and many others. In veterinary medicine, it is used to prevent and treat heartworm and also acariasis, among other indications. It can be taken by mouth or applied to the skin for external infestations.

There are some people who would rather get this ivermectin treatment rather than get the COVID-19 vaccine to be protected from the virus. Little did many people in this whole wide world know, there are actually so many side effects of getting ivermectin. People should really take note of this because it is dangerous. The FDA has not approved ivermectin for use in treating or preventing COVID-19 in humans. The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends not to use ivermectin in patients with COVID-19, except in clinical trials. It is not known whether ivermectin will harm an unborn baby. Ivermectin can pass into breast milk and may harm a nursing baby. Other than that, Ivermectin also should not be given to a child who weighs less than 33 pounds.
