Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) champion Conor McGregor expressed his desire to buy Liverpool after its owner, Fenway Sports Group (FSG) admitted it would consider selling the club.
Moreover, FSG have reportedly decided that Liverpool are ready for sale on Monday and are willing to listen to offers from interested parties.
FSG also said that they would consider selling the club if it was in the best interest of the team. The club’s global fan base, economic value, and history of winning trophies might lead to an estimate of more than £4 billion (RM21 billion).
In a statement, FSG said: “There have been a number of recent changes of ownership and rumours of changes in ownership at EPL clubs, and inevitably we are asked regularly about Fenway Sports Group’s ownership in Liverpool.
“FSG has frequently received expressions of interest from third parties seeking to become shareholders in Liverpool.”
McGregor expressed his intentions to buy Liverpool on his Twitter account. McGregor tweeted: “I WOULD LOVE IT! I requested my information on this, yes. Soon as I heard. What a turn of events! What a club!”

Furthermore, McGregor, a two-division winner in the past, has often stated his desire to own a Premier League team.
After Russian businessman Roman Abramovich placed Chelsea up for sale this year, Conor announced his interest in purchasing the club earlier this year.
He tweeted, “I wish to explore this @ChelseaFC”. McGregor remarked that he does not joke around when asked whether he able to buy the west Londoners.
