AirAsia Drops One-Bag Rule, Allows Two Bags in Cabin Again

Air Asia has announced a new update related to its cabin baggage allowance and starts effectively on July 7. For passengers, only two pieces of baggage not exceeding a total of 7kg in weight.

One piece of cabin bag can now be stored in the overhead compartment in the aircraft cabin. But, the bag must not exceed 56cm x 36cm x 23cm including the handles, wheels and side pockets to be fit into the compartment.

For the second cabin bag, it can be either a laptop bag, handbag, backpack, or any other small bag. For these kinds of bags, it must not exceed 40cm x 30cm x 10cm and must be able to fit under the seat in front of the passengers.

One other thing that passengers must take note of was items that are wrapped, tied, or strapped together cannot be counted as one piece of cabin baggage.

Passengers who wish to travel with more than the permitted cabin baggage limit are recommended to pre-book your checked baggage allowance prior to the flight.
