Ice Bath Can Help Restore Our Body System, What About Other Benefits?

Ice is often associated with a stigma that has a detrimental effect on the health of the body. Similarly, in the tradition of the Malays, the ice is ‘taboo’ because of consumption had a negative effect especially when drinking beverages icy cold. Such things happen when cold water molecules enter the body.

Many people think so because they feel it can have an internal effect on the limbs such as the common cold, the cause of bloating, fatigue, and so on. From another angle, the use of ice can be therapeutic and has many benefits especially for body functions such as ice baths.

In fact, this ice bath has many benefits that you can get. So, to increase your belief in an ice bath, we want to share with you the benefits of it:

1. Reduces muscle aches and pains

Ice baths are very useful when you want to reduce swelling, inflammation, and pain. It can also reduce painful muscle cramps. Be sure to immediately apply ice to the new injury to prevent it from swelling and reduce the pain of stress on the injury.

2. Helps restore the nervous system

Which helps you sleep and feel better. This, in turn, may improve your reaction time and explosiveness in future workouts.

3. Reduce the effects of inflammation

Ice baths can also help speed up your recovery time for injuries. The cold temperature reduces the circulation flow of the injury, which is what helps to reduce the inflammation and swelling of an injury.

4. Reduce the effects of heat and humidity.

An ice bath may decrease the effect of heat and humidity. Taking the ice bath such as before a long race can lower core body temperature a few degrees which can lead to improved performance. This is because of the long race that we take was in conditions where there is an increase in temperature or humidity.

5. Train our vagus nerve

One of the main benefit if we take an ice bath is being able to train our vagus nerve. If the vagus nerve were trained, it can help us face stressful situations more adequately.
