According to the Senior Minister (Security Cluster), Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, no restrictions will be imposed on individuals who want to return to their hometown.

“Actually, there are no travel restrictions. That is why I said, you can still return to the village, you just have to comply with the SOP. Although the government allows us to return to the hometown, we need to take care of ourselves,” he said when answering a question from a journalist in a press conference today.

“I do not know why there are police tents and so on (referring to journalists’ questions), but our decision has no state and district restrictions. They can go back,” he added.

Before this, the media reported the government’s decision to tighten the standard operating procedure (SOP) related to the Movement Control Order (MCO) which has been loosened under the implementation of the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) following the increase in new COVID-19 cases in Malaysia.
