As one of the people who love to watch movies, of course, Star Wars movies we often hear. Although there are many types of movies that have been watched, this science fiction genre film is indeed one of the must-see movies.

Which is not the case, Star Wars is one of the films that is said to be a legendary and iconic film. The film also undeniably has a large number of fans around the world since it was first screened in 1977.

Although the last Star Wars movie Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker has ended in 2019, it does not stop many people from learning more about the Star Wars storyline especially for those who are new to the film.

While there are many Star Wars films that have been produced, there is no doubt that those films can be said to be the best or the worst.

According to Insider, there are some Star Wars movies that can be said to be among the best. Here is a list of the five best Star Wars movies:

5) Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016)

“Rogue One” introduces us to exciting new characters, and its story cleverly answers the question, “What happened before Darth Vader boarded Princess Leia’s ship at the beginning of ‘A New Hope’?” It gets the main points for its originality in a franchise where it is almost impossible to do. But there are moments in the story that drag. Thankfully, the ending is very strong.

4) Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015)

The film is a great blend of old and new generations, celebrating the franchise’s legacy while laying the groundwork for a new cast. A lot of joy comes from our love of old films, and director J.J. Abrams wisely took advantage of it. Moreover, the reason you must sympathize with Lucas, who had to create a very original storyline for the prequel.

3) Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017)

Director Rian Johnson does an almost impossible task by bringing the original spin to the “Star Wars” story. His attention to the nuances of the franchise, as well as delving into the Jedi mythology of Lucas, led to an emotionally charged film with many moments of shock and laughter.

2) Star Wars: A New Hope (1977)

The movie that started it all. There is no denying the greatness of the original “Star Wars” movie. Lucas did things visually, and with the original score, which not only changed the sci-fi genre but also the idea of the blockbuster itself. While we love and adore this franchise because of what was achieved in “Empire Strikes Back,” if not for “A New Hope”, the franchise would not be as it is today.

1) Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back (1980)

Setting aside and letting director Irvin Kershner and screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan take over the “Star Wars” sequel was the best decision Lucas ever made. This story evolves beyond good versus evil and becomes a layered dark story.

Opening the film with Luke being attacked by a wampa, followed by the Rebels being destroyed from their secret base by the Empire, shows that all bets have been turned off. Anything can and does happen in this movie. Darth Vader’s revelation as Luke’s father is still one of the biggest twists and turns in film history. But as the years went by, the scene where Han Solo was frozen in carbonite can still be remembered by anyone to this day.
