Prime Minister Extends His Condolences To COVID-19 Victim’s Family, Want To Focus On Pandemics Rather Than Political Issues

The Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin expressed his condolences to the families of the victims who died as a result of COVID-19 in Malaysia.

In a press conference recently, he said the low number of deaths in Malaysia compared to other countries shows the effectiveness of the measures taken by the government so far.

“I would like to take this opportunity to extend my condolences to all the families of those who have died due to COVID-19. If I’m not mistaken, the number is 158 or 159.

“This is a statement that the actions we have taken so far to manage COVID-19 are quite successful with a relatively small number of deaths compared to some other countries,” he said.

On current issues, he explained that he refused to focus on political issues in order to prioritize the COVID-19 pandemic issue.

“In this relatively critical period, we have not shifted our focus to other issues even though many have wanted to ask political questions long ago.

“I am not ready to answer not because I do not know how to answer, just because I want to make sure that whatever statement I issue, the people do not say the PM is busy with politics and forget the more important things, the welfare of the people, their safety, what else,” he said.
