Three Foreigners Held For Robbery, Attempted Rape Of Senior Citizen

JOHOR BAHRU, April 27 —  Police detained three foreign men for allegedly attempting to rape and rob a senior citizen in Taman Skudai on Monday.

Iskandar Puteri district police chief ACP Dzulkhairi Mukthar, in a statement today, said the suspects comprised a 26-year-old Bangladeshi and two Myanmar nationals, aged 21 and 26, who are all construction workers, were nabbed at about 2.30 pm.

Dzulkhairi said during the 3.30 am incident, the victim, a 65-year-old housewife, was sleeping in her house when she heard a sound like someone opening her room window.

“The victim then saw a dark-skinned foreign man, topless and only wearing underwear standing in front of her bed and holding an iron rod,” he said , adding that the suspect left after forcing the woman to hand him over RM500.

“Police also seized several pieces of evidence which included an iron rod, a crowbar, a grey-coloured boxer, and a mobile phone,’ he said, adding the two Myanmar nationals were also arrested for abetment in the case.

All the suspects will be remanded today under Sections 392/397 and 354 of the Penal Code and Section 6 (1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63.
