(Video) “Don’t Give Up” – Advice That Is Great For Parents With Children Struggling Speech Delay

According to a study, speech is actually the physical act of producing sounds and saying words. A toddler with a speech delay difficulty may try but would have trouble forming the correct sounds to make their words. A speech delay does not involve comprehension or even nonverbal communication. Because of that, it is very important for all parents that have their own children struggling with speech delay to never give up teaching and helping them to keep up.

It is actually just a temporary difficulty for the children at that time. Just like this particular video went viral on the TikTok app which shows a piece of advice given by a mother that also has children with speech delay. According to the video which she stated, “For parents that have children with speech delay like Fayyadh, please do not give up”.

The video started with the mother emphasize all parents out there to never compare their own children with any other children in this whole wide world even though they have the same speech delay difficulties in their life. It actually does not matter what people wanted to say about how you teach your children as a parent and also it definitely does not matter what other people think about your own children. This is because that is your children and not other people. You are the one who has to support them all the way and also have faith in them.

According to the mother that stated, “Fayyadh still could not talk properly even when he was already 3 years old. We have try our hardest to help him. We even enrolled him in a playschool to help him. We used to be so worried about him before because we always saw that children his age could even sing at that age”.

Little by little, they decided to change their mindset. Even though Fayyadh still cannot talk, he is such an obedient child. As he becomes 4 years of age, the parents already feel so happy for their children because Fayyadh can finally talk even though his pronunciation was a bit wrong at times. Thankful towards Allah S.W.T, Fayyadh now can fluently talk in Malay and also English. His parents are so happy for him.
