State-level Malaysia Day Celebration Will Be Held In Bintulu Tommorow

The 2022 Malaysia Day celebration will be held at Bintulu, Sarawak. Bintulu Old Airport will be the site that use for the celebration.

The state-level celebration will bring a total of about 5,000 guests, which will begin at 7.00 p.m. The theme of the celebration is Keluarga Malaysia Teguh Bersama (Malaysian Family Stronger Together).

The celebration will include renowned artists such as Datuk M. Nasir, Andi Bernadee, Ramles Walter, Florence Lo, Claudia Geres, Safar Ghafar, Sazia Selir, and Max Kueh. They will be performing during the Malaysia Day celebration tomorrow.

Not only that, visitors will be able to witness the raising of the Jalur Gemilang ceremony and a fireworks display.

Last night, a dress rehearsal for the celebration this Friday went smoothly. Sarawak Minister of Modernisation of Agriculture and Regional Development Datuk Seri Dr. Stephen Rundi Utom was also present. He will be overseeing this year’s celebration.

During the dress rehearsal, dancers went all out during the entire practice while wearing their full ethnic costumes to symbolize the rich history and tradition of the Bintulu people, which includes the Iban, Orang Ulu, Melanau, Chinese, Malay, Bidayuh, Kadayan, and Vaie ethnic groups.

Also attending the celebration is Sarawak Yang Dipertua Negeri Tun Abdul Taib Mahmud, along with his wife Toh Puan Raghad Kurdi Taib. Others expected to attend are Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg and his wife Puan Sri Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang.

The celebration will be live on Astro channel 122 (TVS), myFreeview and on Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS) Facebook and Youtube channel.
