Coca-Cola Bottlers Malaysia has allocated contributions valued over RM240,000 to flood-affected victims across three states, namely Kelantan, Pahang, and Terengganu.

The food assistant programme “Sincere Kitchen” aims to support more than 9,000 families in areas that are expected to be affected by floods. Other than providing food aid, those in need will also receive relief packs which contain hygiene kits, medicine, and other necessities.

In addition, Coca-Cola Bottlers Malaysia, in collaboration with Yayasan Ikhlas, as well as the Department of Social Welfare Malaysia, and the Malaysia Civil Defence Force, also worked together to distribute Dasani drinking water as part of the contribution.

The contribution in the form of cash and drinking water was handed over to Ir. Hj. Kamaruddin Kassim who represented Yayasan Ikhas. This marks the first collaboration between Coca-Cola Bottlers Malaysia and Yayasan Ikhlas and set the path for future joint assistance programmes.

“Coca-Cola Malaysia does not only focus on sustainability activities but also towards our corporate social responsibility programmes ‘Acts of Kindness’, which we have been consistently organising in line with our corporate value of sharing with and giving back to the communities in need,” said Khairul Anwar Ab Gahani, Public Affairs, Communications & Sustainability Director, Coca-Cola Singapore, Malaysia & Brunei.

Yayasan Ikhlas was established in 2009 with the purpose of assisting various communities that are less fortunate, including orphans, the poor, and the disabled communities.

According to Ir. Hj. Kamaruddin Kassim, Corporate Director of Yayasan Ikhlas, the foundation is also active in community activities. An example is the “Ikhlas Volunteer Team” which mobilises volunteers across the country to help ease the burden on flood-affected victims, as well as clean up the affected areas.

Members of the public who wish to donate or contribute to the flood-affected victims can do so via the Yayasan Ikhlas Flood Disaster Fund. Visit misibantuan.com or call +6019-611 5954 for further inquiries.
