Types Of Skincare Ingredients That Pregnant Women Must Avoid

During pregnancy, a woman’s skin may experience a variety of changes. For instance, hyperpigmentation, stretch marks, and dryness.

There is a low probability that a skincare routine would require considerable adjustments once a woman is pregnant. However, pregnant women should avoid some ingredients found in their skincare products.

It can cause salicylism, which is ringing in the ears, dizziness, and vomiting.

5. Phthalates

There is evidence that phthalates can disrupt hormone function. Children and adults should avoid these substances whenever possible. It’s also harmful to fetuses.

Phthalates can cause:

  • preterm birth

All in all, pregnant mothers should be very careful while selecting skincare products. Always read the product’s label before applying it to your skin.
