Besides Malaysia, Singapore Enters The Top 10 Places Chinese Tourists Want To Visit

Many Chinese tourists are expected to fill Singapore once the travel ban is lifted. Recently, the news of China is opening its borders to the world soon after keeping it locked for many years since the pandemic excites many people.

China’s National Health Commission announced last Monday that inbound travelers would not have to quarantine upon arrival on the mainland starting 8 January. This announcement thus officially ended the three-year policy.

Interestingly, the USA and Southeast Asian countries are some of the ‘must-visit’ destinations after the ban ended, as stated by Trip.com Group.

Not only that, but Singapore enters the top 10 places Chinese tourists want to visit!

These are the top 10 must-go destinations for the tourists

According to the travel booking website, the countries Chinese tourists have been eyeing are Japan, Thailand, South Korea, the USA, Singapore, Malaysia, Australia and UK. These tourist destinations accumulated the fastest-growing search volume.

No additional restrictions by the Singapore authorities

Upon knowing the news, some people are concerned about the new wave that might hit the country. This is because the surge of tourists visiting Singapore will also welcome the possible rise in COVID-19 cases.

However, the experts in Singapore’s infectious diseases community assured the people there is no need for additional restrictions.

Why? Singapore has a high vaccination rate, and China’s infection rates are not higher than comparable countries.

In Singapore, the travel requirement includes a minimum vaccine dosage of at least 14 days before entering the gates of Singapore. Or the visitor tested negative.

Additionally, Singapore Airlines (SIA) did not indicate if they would implement additional restrictions to welcome Chinese tourists.
