What Is The ‘Turning My Mom Into Me’ Trend? A New Wave On Social Media!

Heads up, folks! There is a new trend coming to town! As we are approaching the last few days of 2022, we thought nothing exciting would come to us anymore (aside from Christmas and New Year). But as we were scrolling through various social media platforms, we spotted a new trend that caught our attention!

The “turning my mom into me” trend gradually simmers and fills the FYP on Twitter and TikTok. You might ask, what exactly is it? Have you ever come across it?

From what we understand, “turning my mom into me” is when their children (mostly it’s their daughters) dress their mothers into what they are wearing now.

A Twitter user @ghostinmypocket compiled a few videos popping everywhere on social media platforms and wrote, “This trend really shows how ageing is sometimes just rooted in our perception of what’s modern.”

Fashion trend knows no age limit

From the trend itself, we can safely conclude that fashion is indeed timeless. Even though we age, what we wear before might be the next ‘it-thing’ a few years in the future! And who says we won’t slay that look if we have it on us again?

Every mother who did the challenge look years younger than their age! It is as if they have travelled back in time! Are you sure they are your mothers? They are all so beautiful!

Everyone is going absolutely ballistic for this trend! We can see how both mother and their children enjoyed doing this.

Honestly, it is such a heartwarming moment to see them bonding together through fashion. We understand— maybe some mothers no longer wants to ride the fashion wave due to their age. But many of them appeared as if they enjoyed doing this challenge! Perhaps they are a bit shy to be on camera, but mothers worldwide, all of you are gorgeous to a t!

So, many have done this with their mothers. Can we expect a “turning my dad into me” next? We’re excited to wait for the possible!
