Jordon’s Renowned Ulama, Sheikh Dr. Muhammad Naim Yasin Passed Away Last Night

Another heartbreaking news knocked on the doors of 2023. Jordon’s renowned ulama, Sheikh Dr. Muhammad Naim Yasin, passed away last night after being in critical condition.

In a heart-wrenching Facebook post shared by his family, they confirmed the ulama’s demise.

They wrote:

We bear witness to Allah that our father, Your servant, and our beloved Muhammad Naim Yassin, were our leader, sheikh, teacher and beloved person. I bear witness that he spent his life serving You and serving Your religion.

Not only that, but the post also said, “[Sheikh Dr. Muhammad Naim Yasin] studied [Islamic] religion for nearly fifty years and had his students as his children. (…) We bear witness that he was putting God between his eyes in every fatwa he made and in every research he wrote.”

The respected ulama is loved by many

To many people, Sheikh Dr. Muhammad Naim Yasin was not only a teacher but an icon. Not only pious and faithful to the religion of Allah, but he’s also a respected ulama for his kindness, empathy and humility.

A preacher, Abdul Rahim Al-Tanjuji, shared his experience encountering the humble ulama.

In his Facebook post, Abdul Rahim shared, “When I was visiting [the ulama], he welcomed me at the gate despite his health not being at its best. Not only that, but he also sent me to the gate when I was about to leave. He was one in a million.”

Some of Sheikh Dr. Muhammad Naim Yasin’s achievements

Another interesting fact about the late ulama is he was a holder of two degrees, one in the sharia and the second in law. He was a graduate of Damsyik University.

Furthermore, he continued the Master’s program at the University Al-Azhar al-Sharif in comparable fiqh (fiqh muqaran). Simultaneously, he was also a Master’s graduate from the University of Kaherah, majoring in law. He ended his studies at the PhD level in Al-Azhar, majoring in fiqh muqaran in 1972.

Abdul Rahim listed a few notable works produced by the ulama while he was alive. Some of them are:

  1. Faith: Its Pillars — Its Truths— Its Contradictions
  2. Jihad: Its Fields and Methods
  3. The Reality of Jihad in Islam
  4. Falsehoods About The Goals of Jihad
  5. His PhD dissertation, Theory of Case

and many more.
