Guinness World Records Crowned 30-Year-Old Dog As The World’s Oldest Living Dog

Last time, Guinness World Records revealed the oldest living person and cat in the world. Now, we get to find out about the oldest dog alive in the world. Bobi, a 30-year-old canine, recently broke the record just a few days after a 23-year-old chihuahua held the title.

Bobi, whose age is 30 years and 267 days old is from Portugal, and is a purebred Rafeiro do Alentejo. This type of breed usually has a life expectancy of 12 to 14 years. Nevertheless, surprisingly, Bobi managed to live until today.

“Bobi has been a warrior for all these years. Only he knows how he’s been holding on. It must not be easy because the average dog’s lifespan is not that high. If Bobi spoke, only he could explain this success,” told Leonel Costa, the owner.

Asking about the longevity secrets, the canine’s owner was unsure. He had Bobi since he was eight years old. He described it as a dog that enjoys eating and playing with the family’s four cats.

The Costas were very happy that their furry family broke the record. Not just Bobi is the Oldest Living Dog in the world, but he is also the Oldest Dog Ever. Before this, the title of the Oldest Dog Ever belonged to Bluey, an Australian cattle dog, aged 29.
